Implanon®
is
- packaged in a preloaded applicator
- inserted in the upper part of the non-dominant
arm in the groove between the biceps and the triceps
- palpable but unobtrusive once in place.
Performed under local anaesthetic, the
insertion procedure takes around 1 minute. When inserted at
the appropriate time in a woman's cycle, Implanon® has
immediate contraceptive efficacy. Once Implanon®
is removed, in a simple procedure under local anaesthetic,
etonogestrel levels drop almost immediately.
